This application is an interactive tool for looking up base elementary, middle, and high school base attendance details Wake County Public School System by residential address.
The data used to create this application include planunit boundaries, no transport zone (NTZ) boundaries, and residential addresses. Attributes tied to planunit boundaries and NTZs are at minimum used for the current school year. When the assignment plan for the following year is approved by the Wake County Board of Education (BOE), typically in November, the attributes for planunits and NTZs are activated in the application.
This application allows users to explore base assignment details for a given Wake County residential address by school year and grade level. By typing in a valid, residential Wake County address, users will be able to see a break down of that location's assigned base school, calendar, and transportation availability. Additional information on enrollment caps or split assignments (typically for new schools) may be provided where appropriate.
This tool was built in an effort to share basic details about WCPSS base assignments by address for use by District staff, the BOE, and the public so that all parties can work from a common operating picture. By sharing as an interactive web application, WCPSS can ensure that the data remain up-to-date throughout the year.
